about
Haunting music for haunting times, by Sean C. Cook & S. J. Tucker, two neighbors in one little corner of the Darkansas music scene, just trying to use our powers for good. Imagine that Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, and Eurythmics all took a vacay in the swamp together. Perhaps this is how it sounds.
CoF & S. J. Tucker release this collaboration in support of Lucie's Place Little Rock: www.luciesplace.org Lucie's Place is a non-profit committed to fighting against housing discrimination, and the over-policing of trans, queer and gender non-conforming black and brown people across the state of Arkansas. Alongside a housing initiative, Lucie's Place operates a community center that, in addition to providing drop-in services, is a home for queer and trans political and archival education, safer sex and gender education, and encourages the collective determination of black and brown queer and trans people in Arkansas, and across the Deep South.
Voices follow me
Alone, unafraid
I long to see
these tattered wings unmade
feathers falling
a trick of the light
whispered prophecy
outside of sound, just out of sight
Alone, without fear, alone, without fear,
I long to see. I long to hear these
strange, angelic
echoes out of time
Strange, angelic
echoes out of time

“Without our songs and stories, we are nothing.” S. J. Tucker has been captain of her own music career since 2004, when she
left the workaday world behind to sing songs and change lives. Tucker is the voice of lore at the campfire and the sharp laughter of modern myth. With one hand anchored in her art and the other held out to us, she is songs and stories, community and wit....more
I would happily stroll the green with the Professor if the opportunity came. So very posh, and yet so very silly. Who wouldn't love a chap like this? He inspires me to parasol-rap of my own. <3 S. J. Tucker
Ginger is my favorite recording engineer, a bandmate, a soulmate, and a straight-up genius. This Cocoon is her first solo release- "Made It Home" is my favorite track, and I sang backup on "Masks". S. J. Tucker
Dogwood is the real deal: mythology, wit, whimsy, wisdom, and outstanding musical chops. Do please eat the pomegranate seeds so that you can stay a while and listen. S. J. Tucker
Lush, moody folk-derived music sure to appeal to metal fans, the latest from Wolcensmen is awash in gorgeous keys & mournful melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2020
